Obamanation (O-ba'-ma-NA'-shin): n. the act of saying something to a target audience with the sole purpose of currying favor, while in fact having acted in direct opposition to the expressed idea.
Obamanation: "I believe we can provide jobs to the jobless, homes to the homeless, and reclaim young people in cities across America from violence and despair." —Barack Obama, speaking to the Democratic National Convention in New York on July 27, 2004. Reality:
On October 15, 2003, Cecil Butler gave $1000 to the Obama for Illinois campaign. [1] On February 17, 2004, Cecil Butler gave $1000 to the Obama for Illinois campaign. [2] On June 26, 2004, Cecil Butler gave $1000 to the Obama for Illinois campaign. [3] The landlord also gave $1000 to Obama's failed 1999 Congressional bid [4] and tens of thousands more to other Democratic political campaigns and committees. Translation: Barack Obama will tout the need for taxpayer-funded social justice when it is politically expedient, but the truth is that he and liberal politicians like him routinely use social programs to funnel taxpayer dollars to campaign contributors. A teary-eyed Lawndale resident said, "They treat us like animals, and we're not, we're real people." Since Barack Obama has been writing fat checks to other liberal candidates across the country, maybe he will give the contributions from "landlord" Butler to the residents of Lawndale so they can find a room at a Super 8 Motel while repairs are being made. Probably not. Typical – when real leadership is needed, Obama disappears. It's starting to get chilly here in the windy city. Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate from Illinois. He has been known to say he supports one thing after having acted to undermine that very thing. Obama has a record of increasing taxes, maintaining the status quo and pandering to special interests.
