Obamanation (O-ba'-ma-NA'-shin): n. the act of saying something to a target audience with the sole purpose of currying favor, while in fact having acted in direct opposition to the expressed idea.
Obamanation: CHICAGO, IL - Democrat Candidate for U.S. Senate Barack Obama was quoted on October 1st in The Bolingbrook Sun saying, "The most important thing we can do is to make sure our education system Reality: Barack Obama voted "no" on HB-1812, a 1999 bill that required the State Board of Education to make report cards on school performance available on the internet. The bill also directed schools to equip computers with software to prevent minors from gaining access to sexually explicit material on the internet. [1] Barack Obama failed to support SB-759 in 1999, which mandated adult prosecution for minors (of at least 15 years of age) for discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of schools. [2] He also failed to support SB-609 in 2001, which would have banned adult entertainment establishments from setting up shop within 500 feet of schools or churches, and he promoted SB-99, mandatory sex education for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. [3] [4] Translation: Barack Obama says he wants a "world class" education system. But he stands against school choice, locking some children into failing schools and sheltering special interest groups by keeping parents in the dark about their school's performance. Obama fails to protect children from gang and "Columbine" style school violence, and wastes precious resources on radical agendas. Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate from Illinois. He has been known to say he supports one thing after having acted to undermine that very thing. Obama has a record of increasing taxes, maintaining the status quo and pandering to special interests. (See also: tax-and-spend liberal, leftist ideologue, liberal extremist.)
