Making the real and unedited Alan Keyes known
Commentary
For the past month I have taken to writing each member of our church to remind them of the real issues at stake in the Keyes - Obama race. Frequently I ask, "When you consider Obama's views and votes, what possible issue could you have with Alan Keyes that could cause you to waiver in support of him?" Normally the response to my question is a blank stare.
While I do not host a radio program, I did have the honor and privilege to introduce Alan Keyes when he spoke at our church last week. In that introduction, I introduced the real Alan Keyes, not the Alan Keyes known by way of politically savvy media types, nor the Alan Keyes known by a myriad of strategically engineered sound bites; rather I introduced the real, unedited Alan Keyes.
The response was overwhelming.
I am happy to report that everyone I discussed the speech with later agreed that Alan Keyes deserved their unconditional support, even though many came to the forum with one or more of the "common misconceptions."
Well done and congratulations. We must make known the real and unedited Alan Keyes.
