The Keyes '04 Minuteman Program

"Cheshire Puss," she began … "would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.

-- Lewis Carroll, from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Knowing "where you want to get to" is essential for any undertaking. Without a clearly defined goal, activity of any kind, in any direction, is useless – and, often, counterproductive. By contrast, a clearly defined goal, along with a strategy that matches the means available to the ends sought, acts as a road map, and ensures that all proper activity furthers progress toward the ultimate goal.

The goal of the Keyes '04 Minuteman Program is simple: to identify, recruit, and mobilize the 1,800,000 Alan Keyes voters we believe will bring victory on November 2. That is "where we want to get to."

The Keyes ’04 Minuteman program will consist of a structure that every supporter will fit into and contribute in a quantitative way. As a campaign, we will identify all of our supporters who commit to an assortment of several different activities as Keyes ’04 Minutemen.

The Keyes ’04 Minuteman program activities will fall into two different categories: manpower and message. Manpower activities are those that directly affect the turnout come Election Day. Message activities are those that indirectly affect turnout by driving the campaign’s message.
