Instructions for documenting in-kind donations
If you are interested in making an in-kind contribution by placing an ad in your local media market, you must document it to us for FEC accounting purposes.
Federal election law allows individuals to make up to $1,000 in in-kind contributions. (Note that this is considered part of the $2,000 allowable by law for contributing to a federal candidate.)
Note that multiple contributors can act together, if the ad cost exceeds the $1,000 per individual limit.
If you place an ad, the following information needs to be emailed the same day to rebekah@keyes2004.com:
Amount paid for the ad
Donor name
Address
Phone number
Occupation
Employer
Receipts for the ad purchase need to be mailed or faxed into headquarters, to Rebekah’s attention:
*The maximum individual contribution allowed by law is $2,000, $4,000 per married couple. Contributions are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Federal law prohibits corporate or foreign donations. Keyes 2004 is required by law to make our best efforts to report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate is in excess of $200 per calendar year. Paid for and authorized by Keyes 2004.
