Keyes 2004 Update (10-09-04) 1) The First Debate! 2) Chicago Marathon The First Debate! This Tuesday, October 12th, Alan Keyes and Barack Obama will face off in the first of three debates, to take place in the Old State Capitol in Springfield. Thousands upon thousands of Illinois voters will be tuned in to hear for themselves how the two candidates measure up, apart from the spin. There will be a pre-debate rally outside the north entrance of the Old State Capitol beginning at 5:30 pm and a post-debate party afterwards located at: The Renaissance Hotel 701 East Adams Street Springfield, IL 62701 Everyone who is able to come out for this historic event is highly encouraged to do so. This is a great opportunity to show the media and all those undecided voters the strength of support Alan has among Illinoisans. Not only will the media be there to witness our strength, but Obama will be having a rally of his own on the south side of the Old State Capitol. Things should be interesting. If you are in Cook or the Collar Counties and would like to attend, we will have at least one bus leaving our Chicago Headquarters at 12:30 pm. You must RSVP to volunteer@keyes2004.com by noon on Monday, October 11th, so we'll know if we need to get additional buses. Chicago Marathon The Chicago Marathon takes place this Sunday, October 10th. This is a huge event, one for which we can use all the volunteer support possible – both to have a strong Keyes presence and to get much needed information out to the thousands of spectators who will be downtown. We have an abundance of literature and stickers – we will also be passing out non-partisan flyers to alert people about the upcoming debate, with information on how they can tune in. We will meet at Grant Park, by Buckingham fountain, at 7:30 am. The campaign contact is: Larry Joyce, at 520-584-0236 Paid for by Keyes 2004, Inc. 312-756-0025 |
