Keyes 2004 Update (9-06-04)

THIS WEEK WE NEED YOU TO:
HELP AT HEADQUARTERS
ATTEND EVENTS WITH OR FOR ALAN
RECRUIT MORE VOLUNTEERS, VOTES, AND MONEY

56 days and counting!

Over the holiday weekend Alan participated in numerous parades and festivals where many of you came out to witness to the substantive support that this campaign is generating. Despite the biased polls and media that are attempting to produce the results before the voters of Illinois have had a chance to make a clear choice on November 2nd, support continues to grow, volunteers continue to sign up, and doors continue to open.

Saturday evening Alan stopped by the 'Taste of Polonia' festival, sampling the Polish fare and walked around meeting people and shaking hands. We had with us Oleg, one of the volunteers who has been coming into headquarters to help out and who offered to donated his skills as a photographer to capture the event.

We hope to have those photos up soon, and we are grateful to all of the volunteers like Oleg who are giving to this effort in all the specialized and imaginative ways they can.

At today's parade in Naperville over two hundred of you came out to walk with Alan and the press on hand were notably impressed with the turnout, especially given the rainy labor day weather. We need every event to exhibit that kind of strength so if there is an event in your area, it is imperative that you come out and bring as many of your friends and family so that we can continue to prove to the press, and through them to the entire electorate of Illinois, that the choice Alan's candidacy represents is one that a great number of Illinoisans care about and are willing to stand forward in support of. We have many pictures of that event as well that will be posted on the website shortly.

We really can't say this enough, you are all a great inspiration with your generosity and willingness to battle unwearyingly for the message and clear choice this campaign is endeavoring to present. It really will be your efforts across the state, keeping yourselves informed through these updates and through the information and resources provided on the website, getting out to events in your area, signing up supporters through networks of family and faith and work, writing letters to the editor, calling into talk shows and most importantly, keeping Alan and this effort in your prayers, that is going to make all the difference, that is going to bring in each and every critical vote that alone will be the truly deciding factor in this race.

Finally, local county coordinator contact information will be posted on the website tomorrow. Please utilize this information and direct all questions and requests for supplies to the coordinator for your local area. There will also be initial comparison piece pdf's available for download, along with a bio on Alan that can be printed out two sided and disseminated to those you know who may be unaware of Barack Obama's extreme voting record on many important moral and economic issues. We will continue to add more downloadable literature in the coming weeks and all the way up to the election.

Keep faith,

Jeremy Rose

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP NOW:

  • WE NEED HELP AT HEADQUARTERS!! - We can always use people in the office to help with data entry, mailings, phone calls, and a host of other activities that need to get done as soon as possible. We will also make a promise to order lunch or dinner at the office every time we get ten or more volunteers. It’s always a great chance to network and make new friends.

  • WE NEED MINUTEMEN!! Throughout the course of the campaign, we are going to need troops who are ready at a minute’s notice. So we are asking for anyone who is available pretty much twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and willing to be called upon at all hours to e-mail Jeremy@Keyes2004.com and sign up to be a Keyes Minuteman.

  • RECRUIT THE VOTES - Have your friends and family pledge to support Alan on November 2nd. Click Here for a form for you to take to your friends and family and have them commit to support Alan for U.S. Senate. Don't limit yourself to just your friends and family. Take the fight to the streets. Go door to door and ask everyone you come in contact with. Print out as many forms as you can get filled out, and mail them back to us. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 2004, Springfield, IL 62705.

You can also direct your friends and family to the volunteer section of the website to volunteer. (See http://www.keyes2004.com/volunteer)

  • HAVE YOUR FRIENDS CONTRIBUTE & VISIT WWW.KEYES2004.COM - Have your friends and family visit the website to volunteer. We also need to raise a lot of money as fast as we can. The more money raised through the website, the faster we can turn it into campaign resources. If you would rather not contribute online, you can make out a check check payable to "Keyes 2004, Inc.," and mail it to P.O. Box 2004, Springfield, IL 62705.

  • PRINT AND POST KEYES SIGNS - Print out Alan Keyes signs and fliers while you wait for the really good stuff coming next week. Click Here to print out an Alan Keyes sign and Click Here to print out an Alan Keyes flier.

  • CAMPAIGN WEBSITE – Just a reminder that the Keyes 2004 website is designed to be an immense volunteer tool. It is equipped with downloadable fliers and posters – an instant away – to spread Alan’s campaign message. It also has internet banners, downloadable volunteer forms, voter registration forms, donation forms, Alan’s public schedule, Alan’s speech transcripts, MP3 audio clips, videos, pictures of campaign events, all of the campaign newsletters, and so forth, to allow volunteers and the public to have as many resources at their fingertips as possible.
